You don’t need to be in crisis, have a diagnosis or even be completely sure what you want from therapy. Sometimes there’s a particular difficulty you want help with; at other times, it may simply be a sense that something isn’t quite right, or that you keep finding yourself in patterns you’d like to understand or change.
People come to therapy for many different reasons – perhaps you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed or low, struggling in a relationship, going through a difficult period, or finding that ways of coping that once helped no longer work as well as they used to.You also don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to work on. Part of therapy can be making sense of that together.
If you’re unsure, I offer a complimentary 20-minute consultation where we can talk briefly about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re looking for, and whether working together feels like a good fit.
Your initial consultation is a free 20-minute session. It’s a chance for us to connect, talk about what’s brought you to therapy, and explore whether working together feels like the right fit. I’ll ask some questions to get a sense of your current challenges, and you’re welcome to ask me anything too.
There’s no set number of sessions, as everyone comes to therapy with different experiences and needs. Some people find shorter-term therapy helpful for a particular issue, while others choose to work more deeply over a longer period. We can talk about this when we first meet, and we’ll regularly check in on how the therapy is feeling and whether it continues to be useful to you. There’s no expectation that you commit to a particular number of sessions.
Yes - confidentiality is central to how I work.
